Marianne Quiding-Järbrink was born in Gothenburg in 1964, where she later studied for a master’s degree in biology. She completed her doctoral thesis in 1994 and became reader in immunology in 1998. She held a postdoctoral position at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from 1998 to 2000, and from 2002 to 2008 she was a researcher in experimental vaccine research at the Swedish Research Council. In March 2009 she was appointed Professor of Immunity to infections at the Institute of Biomedicine, in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
