Mccloskey Nansen Deirdre - The School of Business, Economics And Law - DEIRDRE NANSEN MCCLOSKEY
Born: 1942 Thesis: Economic Maturity and Entrepreneurial Decline: British Iron and Steel, 1870–1913
Deirdre Nansen McCloskey was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. She obtained her PhD in 1970 at Harvard University. Since 2000 she has been Professor of Economics, History, English and Communication at the University of Illinois, Chicago. From 2002 to 2006 she was Visiting Tinbergen Professor at Erasmus University, Rotterdam. She has written 15 books and published over 360 articles on economic theory, philosophy, rhetoric, feminism, ethics and law. She was a teacher of economics and history at the University of Chicago for 12 years. Her best-known book is The Bourgeois Virtues: Ethics for an Age of Capitalism. Since 2009 she has been Professor of Economic History at the Graduate School.

Maddox Lynda M. - The School of Business, Economics And Law - Lynda M. Maddox is professor of marketing at the George Washington University and obtained her PhD at Southern Illinois University. She is an expert in marketing, advertising, consumer behaviour and in both traditional and Internet-based market research. She has taught in several countries, including Thailand and Sweden and has published articles in a number of prestigious journals. She is also a regular conference speaker and serves as a consultant to many national and international companies. She has been appointed Visiting Professor of Marketing at the Graduate School.

Mallard Carina - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Dept of Physiology Mallard, Carina - The Sahlgrenska Academy CARINA MALLARD – born in Trollhättan in 1963 – earned her BSc at Lund University. She defended her thesis in 1995 at the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand in Pathophysiology of fetal asphyxia: factors that influence the severity and distribution of neuronal damage. In 1996 she was awarded a SIDS Postdoctoral Fellowship (1996–1998) at Melbourne University, Australia. She was a junior research fellow at the Swedish Research Council in 1999–2002 and became senior lecturer in physiology at the University of Gothenburg 2002. Appointed from 1 March 2006 as Professor in experimental perinatal brain damage research.

Malmgren Kristina - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Dept of Clinical Neurosciences KRISTINA MALMGREN, born in Stockholm in 1952, completed her medical degree at the University of Gothenburg in 1980 and became a specialist in neurology in 1987 and senior consultant in 1996. She completed her doctorate in 1988 with the thesis On Premotoneuronal Integration in Cat and Man. She was promoted to associate professor in neurology at Göteborg University in 1991 and university lecturer in neurology in 2000. After her thesis on motor control her research has focussed on clinical epileptology. Professor of Neurology at the University of Gothenburg from 1 October 2005.

Malmstedt Göran – Faculty of Arts, Dept of Historical Studies GÖRAN MALMSTEDT, born in Gothenburg in 1956, graduated with a B.A. from the University of Gothenburg in 1982. In 1994 he completed a Ph.D. at Göteborg University with the thesis Helgdagsreduktionen: Övergången från ett medeltida till ett modernt år i Sverige 1500-1800 (Holiday reduction: the transfer from middle age to modern calendar in Sweden 1500-1800). From 1997 to 2000 he was a research fellow in the Department of History at the University of Gothenburg. He was made an associate professor in 2001. Professor of History at the University of Gothenburg from 1 March 2005.

Thesis: Stated preference methods and empirical analyses of equity in health economics
Peter Martinsson received his PhD in 2000 from Lund University and was appointed reader in economics in 2005. Since 1 September 2008 has been held tenure as professor of economics in the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Avhandlingsstitel: Gene amplification in mouse tumor cells
Tommy Martinsson was born in Jönköping and graduated in biology from the University of Gothenburg in 1981. He was awarded his PhD in 1987 and held a postdoctoral post from 1987 to 1988 at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum, Heidelberg in Germany. He was appointed reader in genetics at the University of Gothenburg in 1993, and in 1989 became clinical geneticist in the unit for clinical genetics at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where he has been chief geneticist since 1997. He also held a senior cancer research post for Cancerfonden from 2002 until 2008. Since 1 October 2008 he has held tenure as professor of cancer genetics in the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. This appointment is combined with a post as clinical geneticist at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Title of dissertation: Medical advice at health care centres and pharmacies
Bertil Marklund was born in Vänersborg in 1945. A degree of Master of Science in Medicine was conferred on him at the University of Gothenburg. He got his doctorate in 1990 and became a Docent in General Medicine in 2000. On 1 May 2007 he was appointed Adjunct Professor in General Medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. The position is linked to a position as Chief for Research and Development in 'Närsjukvården' in Halland.

Maureen McKelvey was born in the USA in 1965. The degree of Bachelor was conferred on her at Rice University, Houston, Texas. She got her doctorate in 1994 at Linköping University and from 1996 to 2003 she was Guest Professor at the University of Queensland and Stanford University. From 2001 to 2007 she was Professor of the Economics of Innovation at Chalmers University of Technology. On 1 August 2007 she was appointed Professor of Industrial Management at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Milsom Ian - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology IAN MILSOM completed his medical education at the University of Liverpool, England in 1973. His clinical postgraduate training was carried out in Gothenburg where he was granted specialist authorization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1981. He completed his Ph.D. thesis in 1984 at the University of Gothenburg. In 2000 he was appointed Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. This position is combined with the position of Consultant Gynecologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. He is at present Chairman of the Institute of Clinical Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy. Professor Milsom is author of numerous publications within the field of female reproductive health, in particular urinary incontinence and other forms of lower urinary tract dysfunction, contraception and menstrual disturbances.

Lena Mossberg was born in Österplana and in 1994 she was awarded her PhD by the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg for a thesis focusing on marketing and tourism. In 2002 she became a reader in marketing at the same school. From 2004 to 2006 she was guest professor at Örebro University. Since 2007 she has been professor of experience economy at the BI School of Management in Oslo. She is also professor of experience economy and service innovation at the Bodø Graduate School of Business. Since 15 September 2008 she has held tenure as professor of business administration specialising in marketing in the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Månson Hans – born in Mjölby in 1949 – started out in journalism at the age of 14 on the Östgöta Correspondenten newspaper, Linköping. A-levels were followed by studies in journalism and practical newspaper work in the USA. In 1972 he started at TT, Stockholm. He established investigative journalism at the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper in the 1980s, was head of Kalla Fakta (¿Cold Facts¿) on TV4, was head of Home Affairs on Rapport (TV news programme), assistant editor-in-chief at Aktuellt (TV news programme) and editor-in-chief at the Norrköpings Tidningar newspaper during the 1990s. Chief editor at the Sydsvenskan newpaper 1999–2004/05. In 2006 he published the book Etik och nyhetsjournalistik (Ethics and News Journalism), writes a column on press ethics in the Medievärlden magazine and teaches at editorial offices and schools primarily on press ethics.
Appointed from 1 September 2006 to 31 May 2007 to the Hjörnes’ family visiting professorship in practical journalism.

Lill Mårtensson-Bopp was born in Eringsboda in 1957 and graduated in pharmacy at Uppsala University. She was awarded a PhD by Uppsala University before accepting a postdoctoral position at The Basel Institute for Immunology. She then returned to Sweden to become reader in immunology at Lund University. Between 1999 and 2009 she was principal investigator at a research institute in Cambridge, UK. In April 2009 she was appointed Professor of Molecular Medicine at the Institute of Medicine, in the Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation Research.
