Isaksson Olle - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Institute of Medicine

Isgaard Jörgen - The Sahlgrenska Academy, Dept of Internal Medicine JÖRGEN ISGAARD - born in 1959 and educated at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Gothenburg. He became MD in 1984 and defended his thesis "GH regulation of IGF-I expression in cartilage and skeletal muscle" at the Dept of Physiology in 1989. His research has since been focused on endocrine regulation of the cardiovascular and neuronal systems, in particular metabolic, tissue protective and regenerative effects. He is employed full time at the Dept of Internal Medicine since 2001 and was promoted to full professor in "hormonal regulation of cardiac function, in particular growth and regenerative processes" in 2003. He is also a senior lecturer at the Dept of Endocrinology, Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
