Caenegem William Van - The School of Business, Economics And Law WILLIAM VAN CAENEGEM Born: 1961 William van Caenegem was born in Ghent. After studying law in his country of birth, he graduated with a master's degree from the University of Cambridge, where he obtained his PhD in 2005. He has lived and worked for the past 20 years in Queensland, Australia, where he is a professor at Bond University. Most of his publications have been in the fields of intellectual property law and innovation. He has been appointed Visiting Professor of Law at the Graduate School.

Title of thesis: T lymphocyte subsets – a study on heterogeneity based on lymphokine production
Susanna Cardell was born in Stockholm in 1959 and was awarded a BSc in microbiology by Uppsala University in 1985. Her doctoral thesis, which she defended at Stockholm University in 1992, centred upon the function of helper T-lymphocytes. Between 1992 and 1995 she was visiting research fellow at the Institut de Génétique et de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire in Strasbourg. In 1996 she accepted a junior research position at Lund University, where in 1999 she became reader in Immunology. In 2005 she moved her research team to the University of Gothenburg. In June 2009 she was appointed Professor of Immune Regulation at the Institute of Biomedicine, in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.

Title of dissertation: Essays on Externalities and Transport
Fredrik Carlsson was born in Arvika in 1968. He got his doctorate in 1999 at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. He was appointed Docent in Economics in 2004 and on 1 May 2007 he was appointed Professor of Economics at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Title of dissertation: The Question of a New International Information and Communication Order (NWICO). A Study of International Media Policies.
Ulla Carlsson was born in Ulricehamn in 1950. She got her doctorate at the University of Gothenburg in 1998 and became a Docent in Media and Communication Research the same year. She is the Director of Nordicom, Nordic Information Centre for Media and Communication Research, which also includes the UNESCO cooperation International Clearinghouse on Children, Youth and Media. She was made Titular Professor by the Swedish Government in 2006.

Cato Ingemar - Faculty of Sciences, Dept of Earth Sciences 
Title of dissertation: Recent Sedimentological and Geochemical Conditions and Pollution Problems in Two Marine Areas in South-Western Sweden
Ingemar Cato was born in Uppsala in 1946. He got his doctorate at Uppsala University in 1977 on a thesis which was considered pioneering work within Swedish Sedimentological Marine Environmental Chemisty. He became a Docent in Quaternary Geology at Uppsala University in 1979 and a Docent in Marine Geology at the University of Gothenburg in 1981. Since 1977 he has worked with the Geological Survey of Sweden in which he has built up and developed the marine geological work within this field. On 1 January 2008 he was appointed Guest Professor in Applied Marine Geology at the Faculty of Science at the University of Gothenburg.

Celander Malin – Faculty of Science, Dept of Zoology MALIN CELANDER, born in Gothenburg in 1962, graduated in chemistry at the University of Gothenburg. She completed her doctorate at the University of Gothenburg in 1993 with the thesis Induction of Cytochrome P450 in Teleost Fish. She was a postdoctoral fellow at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in USA 1994-1997. She held a post as assistant professor in experimental biology at Göteborg University and became an associate professor in zoophysiology in 2000. Professor of Zoophysiology at the University of Gothenburg from 1 November 2005.
Chabay Ilan - Faculty of Social Science, Dept of Sociology ILAN CHABAY – born in Zürich, Switzerland, 1943 – earned a BA in chemistry, from Clark University, Massachusetts, in 1966. Ph.D. in chemical physics in 1972 from University of Chicago. The title of his dissertation was First Measurements of Circular Dichroism in the Infrared. Research scientist at National Institutes of Standards and Technology, Washington DC, 1974–1982. Assoc. Director of the Exploratorium Science Center in San Francisco in 1982, President of his own company, the New Curiosity Shop, which developed science exhibits. Consulting Professor at Stanford University 1984–1988.
Appointed the first Erna and Victor Hasselblad Professor of Public Learning and Understanding of Science (PLUS) at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology in March 8, 2006.
Chen Deliang – Faculty of Science, Dept of Earth Sciences 
Title of dissertation: Development of a Two-Dimensional Model of Global Climate-Transport
Deliang Chen was born in Jiangsu in China in 1961 and a degree in Climatology was conferred on him at Nanjing University in 1983. He conducted research at the Chinese Academy of Science between 1983 and 1988 and got his doctorate in 1992 at Mainz University. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Cologne University and the Alfred-Wegener Institute between 1992 and 1993. He became Professor of Physical Meteorology at the University of Gothenburg in 2000. On 1 March 2007 he was appointed August Röhss Professor of Physical Geography with an Emphasis on Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Science at the University of Gothenburg.

Thesis: From hand to hand. Three stories of market mediation, marketing and marketers
Franck Cochoy was born in Nice and obtained a master's degree in French literature in 1986 at the Université de Paris VII and a master's degree in Sociology in 1989 at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. He obtained his PhD in 1995 at the École Normale Supérieure de Cachan. He is currently a professor at the Université Toulouse II. He has been appointed Visiting Professor of Marketing at the Graduate School.

Czarniawska Barbara - The School of Business, Economics and Law, Gothenburg Research Institute. Barbara Czarniawska is since 1995 Professor of Management Studies at GRI, School of Business, Economics and Law. She has published 28 books and 72 refereed articles, edited 17 volumes, and contributed 64 chapters. Her most recent book in English is A Theory of Organizing (2008). Czarniawska is a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, the Swedish Royal Engineering Academy, and the Royal Society of Art and Sciences in Gothenburg. She received Lily and Sven Thuréus Award in 2000 and Wihuri International Prize "in recognition of creative work that has specially furthered and developed the cultural and economic progress of mankind", 2003. Doctor honoris causa at Stockholm School of Economics, 2005; Copenhagen Business School, 2006; Helsinki School of Economics, 2006.
