Thesis: Exercising the self: On the role of exercise, gender and culture for physical self-perceptions
Current research: My research ^ eld is primarily the relationship between physical activity/
exercise/training and mental health (exercise psychology). I have also conducted research into measuring within psychology (psychometrics). The principal focus in my research has been to use advanced statistical models ( e.g. structural equation modelling), to evaluate self-assessment instruments within sport- and health psychology and psychology. In recent years I have also focused on the relationship between physical activity and psychological health (including depression and cognition) in the elderly, and have worked with data from both large longitudinal epidemiological studies and intervention studies. The main focus for my postdoc will be precisely the relationship between lifestyle, physical activity and psychological health in the elderly.
