15 academic minutes

En akademisk kvart (15 academic minutes) is a series of lunch lectures held on Thursdays during the school year at 12.30pm. Each lecture is 15-20 minutes long.

The University of Gothenburg and the Wettergrens bookstore (Bokia) have arranged short lunch lectures for many years. The lectures are called En akademisk kvart, which is really a play on words in Swedish. Ask a Swedish native for details. The mini-lectures are given weekly during the school year in the Bokia bookstore on Kungsportsavenyn in central Gothenburg and feature professors, researchers and teachers who eagerly share the latest news in their respective fields. The lectures target the general public and give the lecturers an opportunity to share their expert knowledge and discuss many interesting topics with the audience.
