At the University of Gothenburg, we work with innovation and utilisation in a broad perspective. When we say innovation, we mean ways to create value – whether the research leads to new methods, processes, services or products.
The University of Gothenburg is actively developing utilisation of research in three ways:
The work with cooperation and utilisation issues is carried out both at the management level and integrated through three different actors: operational support at Grants and Innovation Office, the University’s holding company GU Holding and at the Institute for Innovation and Social Change – one of the University’s centres of expertise and research. The first two directly supports both individual researchers and research projects as complete academic environments, while the institute has the University-wide assignment to promote academic utilisation on a scientific basis.
You are always welcome to contact us with questions about potential cooperation opportunities. We will help connect you with the most appropriate actors.
The Grants and Innovation Office can assist both individual researchers and large research projects with research funding, innovation development and external contacts. By working strategically and integrated with the different specialist functions, the Offices support the development of complete academic environments.
This institute has the University-wide assignment to promote academic utilisation on a scientific basis. A lot of the development work is carried out here, for example within the Knowledge Management project and the Patent- and Innovation Information Programme, in both cases in close cooperation with the operational support function at The Grants and Innovation Office.
Since 1995, the University of Gothenburg’s holding company has successfully funded, developed and divested new businesses that have sprung out of the University’s research results and academic competence.
