National Units

University of Gothenburg hosts a number of national units that are designated specific responsibilities.

The Centre for Environment and Sustainability, GMV, is organised as a joint effort between Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg; its remit comprises the promotion of research, education and cooperation in the field of environmental and sustainability studies.

The Swedish National Data Service is a national resource for the coordination of research databases in the social sciences, in the humanities and in medicine. It provides support by facilitating researchers’ access to data – both in Sweden and abroad.

Segerstedtsinstitutet is a national resource center to disseminate knowledge on how, when and why ideologically motivated violent environments arise. The Institute will work systematically to prevent and counter the emergence and reproduction of these environments.
