LUNCH BUNCH: "The Fermi Paradox, the Great Filter, and the Long-Term Prospects of Humanity"

Abstract: This talk will try to make a coherent whole out of a hodgepodge of Bayesian reasoning, selection effects, Drake's equation, Fermi's paradox, exploratory engineering and evolutionary biology. Particular regard will be paid to what these things say about the long-term prospects of humanity.
