Henrik Schaefer has been a regular guest in Swedish orchestras in recent years, with Wagner cycles at the Wermland Opera and several works by Mozart at the Gothenburg Opera. He became chief conductor of Värmlands Sinfonietta in 2008.

Francicso Lopéz Martín won SNOA's annual soloist audition in the spring and came second in the Ljunggrenska competition last year. During the autumn he will be deputising as solo flautist in Göteborg Opera's orchestra.
