The Vice-Chancellor's Committees

Three committees support the Vice-Chancellor in the co-ordination of matters concerning the University: The Vice-Chancellor’s Committee for First and Second Cycle Education (grundutbildningsberedningen), the Vice-Chancellor’s Committee for Third Cycle Education (forskarutbildningsberedningen) and the Vice-Chancellor’s Committee for External Relations (samverkansberedningen).

The committees are not decision-making bodies but put forward proposals for decisions to be made by the Vice-Chancellor.

Their main task is to implement the measures stated in the University’s Strategic Plan 2007-2010. The committees may raise other issues, in which case the Vice-Chancellor decides on the further handling of these matters. The committees also serve as important forums for discussion and the sharing of experience within their field of interest.

The chair and vice-chair are appointed by the Vice-Chancellor. The other committee members are representatives from the University's faculties, the University library and the student unions.

From July 1, 2008, the committees are permanent University bodies and the mandate of the committee members is also permanent from that day.
